If you like, classic north of the border, Mexican cuisine then this is your comfort meal happy place. When you come into the restaurant, make sure you note the menu framed on the wall showing prices of .70 for many items and an article quoting a combination price of 3.50. Rosa’s has been doing business for a while. As you can see in the photos below, the food served by this family run restaurant is classic north of the border cuisine. Some of fifty years ago, I grew up on this type of food in San Diego. It all starts with a great salsa and homemade chips. Machaca (dried shredded beef) can be hard to find so we ordered some excellent taquitos. I always order a chili Reno which was light and covered in good salsa. Rosa’s offers a combination number four which hit the mark. I was glad to see that no rice came with the dish as the frijoles were sufficient. The menu is diverse, so you may wish to skip the combination platters and order a la carte. The flan is a classic some what denser flan (probably made with condensed milk) and was enough for two to share. Our bill below, with the addition of one beer came to 51 before tip.

I’ve been coming here since I was little. It’s the same brothers that have been running the place and they remember my order. Their chicken tacos are the best in the South Bay. Their food is authentic and cooked with detail. The place has a great ambiance and there’s parking available around the corner or out front. If you’re looking for home-style Mexican cuisine this is the best option. They always bring out warm chips and salsa with every meal. If you haven’t tried Rosa’s before I would definitely check it out.

This is one of the best burritos I have ever had. Low key establishment but everything you could ever want. Staff was so nice and checked on us throughout. Free chips and salsa right when we sat down. Beer was ice cold. refilled fountain drinks easily. I ordered the super deluxe asada burrito and it did not disappoint. Everything was so fresh. Took credit card too. Go check this place out asap. Highly rate it.

We came here after a long 12hr flight as we are still in-transit, even booked a hotel nearby because we wanted authentic Mexican food on our layover, and it delivered. The food was delicious, service was consistent and friendly, portion sizes were massive, and they kept on bringing the chips and salsa. Great beer selection too. It’s a locals place too. There may be other places with marginally higher ratings elsewhere, but for me it’s a 5 star.

I have been a patron here since 1978. I live in Santa Barbara and anytime I can, I try to eat at Rosa's. Simply excellent consistent food! I love the 70's menu prices! It is more now, but still a bargain.
